In 2023, following Bain’s partnership with OpenAI, the firm set out to understand how generative AI could meaningfully change consulting work in practice.

I helped lead the effort to define Bain’s first firm-wide GenAI roadmap and translate it into systems and tools consultants could actually use.

What I did

• Led firm-wide discovery across 400+ consultants to identify high-value GenAI use cases

• Built a quantitative prioritization framework to evaluate feasibility, risk, and impact

• Facilitated ideation workshops with leadership across Bain’s major divisions and functional groups

• Led development of Bain’s first globally deployed internal GenAI tool for consultants

Outcomes

• Created Bain’s first firm-wide GenAI roadmap

• Launched the firm’s first global GenAI product used by consultants

• Identified platform capabilities required to safely deploy GenAI at scale; developed and pitched the business case to Bain’s CTO; secured immediate resourcing

• Authored Bain’s first internal product development playbook for AI tools
